It was a very emotional and wonderful drive that day due to the efforts of some incredible women. Because of their efforts, the delivery for Arkansas Children's Hospital for summer was truly a summer splash! We were able to deliver 106 shirts and 72 blankets!!! In addition, 4 beautiful quilts made by a young girl learning to sew with her grandmother. This was the most shirts we had ever delivered at one time!!! It was OVERWHELMING! Wonderfully overwhelming!

In May we were unable to have our sewing group meet due to an unexpected passing. There was some concern (apparently only by me) of how would we ever meet our desire to make a big summer splash with our Summer Delivery. Our April meeting had been fantastic. We had some new ladies join us and really got a lot done for the upcoming delivery. However, as I looked at all the finishing steps that needed to happen, I didn't think it would be possible before July arrived. There was a lot to be done as you can imagine with a result of 106 shirts! When we were able to meet again in June, the ladies were ready to go! They worked fast and focused. Then, they took some home and we did another short meeting later in the month. More and more finished shirts just kept appearing. It was as if Jesus just kept breaking the "bread" and more and more was ready.

I thought by now I had learned to expect miracles when you are doing the things God puts on your heart. This delivery reminded me I still have a lot to learn about how big my God really is and how much He simply wants willing hands. I am truly blessed to be surrounded by willing hands and beautiful hearts. And, I look forward to see what He will do with the Fall Delivery! It's going to be amazing and we hope you will join us!

Come be part of something incredible. Join us the first Saturday of each month as we fellowship and sew for the little ones!Melissa Posinskihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00532172071953804928noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4639892517576050013.post-33145180993431411822017-04-13T08:49:00.000-07:002017-04-13T08:49:19.152-07:00Spring has SPRUNG! And so did the ACH delivery...I got up early, before the sun, April 1 for our April sewing day. There was a big stack of shirts to get ironed. They had been sewn together at our March sewing meeting, trimmed, turned, and now just needed ironed so they could be closed up and snaps added. Closed up means a person hand sewing the opening between the two layers of fabric closed. I knew I had ladies coming with hand sewing skills. And, I was thankful as this is not my area of expertise. To be honest, most sewing skills are not my area of expertise.... Fortunately, God fills in those gaps with others!

I looked at the big stack, it was about double the normal amount we had done in 2016 each quarter. I was floored we had done so many. But, this also meant that with only a few of us, many of the shirts would simply not get done in time for the delivery to the CVICU at Arkansas Children's Hospital. It just wasn't possible. I took in a deep breath and told myself it was OK, that God provides the workers as long as we are willing to follow His will, but it was OK if they weren't all done. There was simply only so many hours in a day. Whatever got done, we would deliver. And, it would be fabulous no matter what. It was OK!

Then, the ladies began to show up. They sat down and begin to sew what was already ironed as I continued to iron more. I kept ironing, they kept visiting while hand sewing, I kept ironing, they kept getting more done! I finished the ironing and began to put snaps on the shirts. Another lady stopped by to help and began to package the completed shirts. We kept going and enjoying the fellowship as we worked. When our time was almost up for the day, the ladies asked "are there any more to close?" I was floored! Somehow ALL the shirts were closed, we had snaps on almost all, and they were packaged ready to go. How had such a feat happened?!?! And, why after all these years did I doubt what God would accomplish through willing hands? The result?...

The Spring delivery to ACH included 100 Blankets, 1 beautiful quilt, and 79 shirts! When we arrived, they were thrilled. Parents had been asking if there were more shirts coming. It was a fabulous delivery. Make sure to take a moment and check out the photos!

One of our ladies even took the time to make some special Easter shirts. They are PRECIOUS! Look at all the work she put in to them!!! Those little chicks along the bottom, incredible!
We had our biggest delivery to date! What a BANG! Over the course of 2016 there were many that joined us in providing items for the CVICU at Arkansas Children's Hospital. And, I can say from personal experience, your gifts of items, money, time, and prayers make such a difference! Knowing that someone you have never met cares about your little one is absolutely priceless.

I had the opportunity to go to ACH myself along with my sister and deliver the Christmas Delivery. When we arrived, we grabbed a wagon to allow us to take in all the items and headed to the CVICU. We had to hold the items in the wagon so they didn't fall out! Once we got to the 4th floor, we found the amazing Libby. Like all the ACH staff, she met us with full smile. Of course, I don't think Libby is ever without a smile! We had hats, blankets, shirts, and a giant box full of candy for the nurses. It was Christmas, they needed goodies too!

A few months before this delivery, in October, we had a sewing retreat where the ladies that work so hard during the year just get away and enjoy. We had new visitors this year and as you will see in the photo here, they came bearing gifts! Check out all the little hats! 101 precious little hats! We then made a few red stripe beanies to add to them as well! Look at all the colors! Imagine all the work to have 101 hats ready to go!

Our wagon was filled with 76 flannel blankets, 101 sweet hats, 32 beanies, and 52 shirts. If you take a moment to visit the Photos page, you will see pics of all these items. And, if you have donated, look closely and you will most likely see your donations in those photos!

Thank you for helping to make 2016 amazing! It has inspired 2017 to be even better! Look for an update on 2017 soon!

Just WOW!Obviously by the title you can tell this is a MUCH overdue post! But, the impact of what was done is never overdue! Over the end of Summer and into Fall we had several ladies invest time in helping us put together a Fall delivery for Arkansas Children's Hospital. And, simply put it was nothing short of amazing!!!

We have ladies from 11 to 60+ (it's not nice to give ages once you get older :) ) each contributing time and effort. Some sew, some iron, some provide supplies, some cut....it all adds up! We have watched and enjoyed the fact that everyone can make a positive difference if they are willing.

In the fall delivery alone, we had 48 shirts (includes dress style and preemie sizes), 75 flannel blankets, 7 fleece blankets, 13 quilts, and 36 hats! Deliveries like that happen because several people each put forth a little of their time each month. More photos are on our photo page. Make sure to check them out!

I am always amazed as a delivery is finalized how much truly gets done. It just keeps adding up! The impact being made is truly a miracle in itself. Families in their worst moments are being given a gift that allows them to know someone cares about them. And, even bigger, someone cares about their little one. Giving someone that little "kiss on the cheek" in their hardest moment is beyond words.

I pray as you read this short update that you consider joining us in some way. You can give your time or your finances. For those who choose to give a little money here and there, know that it is not wasted! I wait until the biggest sale times to get the most for the money. Yes, the means standing in the cold on black Friday in front of the fabric store. But, to know I can get more for the money and have a bigger impact makes it all worth it!

Happy Fall! And now, bring on the Christmas delivery! It's being put together now!!!
Melissa Posinskihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00532172071953804928noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4639892517576050013.post-38875630305086086812016-07-22T13:20:00.001-07:002016-07-22T13:20:25.387-07:00Summer Delivery - WOW!Over the last few months I crossed that bridge to officially being an empty-nester. And, I admit it was and still is HARD! My poor husband is still dealing with an emotional wife. However, the removal of a big bed means big sewing space! So as I moved furniture, organized fabric, and decorated...I shed some tears. We work hard to raise children as God would have us do, but it doesn't make it easy to then change your job description for adulthood!

I spent a few weeks going through every single piece of fabric I have and organizing. For you sewers out there, you know this took a bit of discipline and time! The result though was well worth the time. I had not expected the pleasant benefits I have experienced because of taking the time to set up the sewing space. I can spend the same amount of time on projects for Arkansas Children's Hospital with our amazing volunteers but be at least twice as productive! We can easily grab and use things without looking for them or setting up and taking down. The result of this change can be seen in our delivery for summer! There was a lot completed!

These volunteers turned out a beautiful bounty for delivery! There were 42 shirts (several were preemie size), 5 beanies, 4 crocheted hats, 3 lovies (small blankets), 2 blankets, and 74 flannel blankets!

For those that are new to this page, make sure to take time to check out the photos! Much of our fabric is donated! We have been truly blessed. The shirts are a custom design to work with all of the tubes, wire, and medical needs at ACH for the babies. We make these because nothing else exists to meet this need. The flannel blankets are actually used as a sheet under the baby. They are larger than a receiving blanket purchased at the store so they fit the mattress of the warming beds. More importantly than all of this, is that our gifts allow people in their hardest moments know that someone cares about them. They are not alone. This is our greatest gift.

I hope to see many more faces at our Aug 6 gathering! We are preparing our fall delivery! We have items to cut, items to iron, items to sew...any level of skill can make a difference. Come be a Difference Maker with us!Melissa Posinskihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00532172071953804928noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4639892517576050013.post-84417044052795844632016-06-13T08:56:00.000-07:002016-06-13T08:56:06.291-07:00Let's Talk About Those LadiesI run in to people and they tell me "you do wonderful work, but I could never do that". I am here to tell you...you are WRONG on both accounts! Allow me to explain!

First,I want to clarify who does the wonderful work! The "I" that does wonderful work, is a "WE". There are a team of ladies that come and go as God knows our needs to make a difference together. I used to worry about who might show up each month until I realized God was filling the room and the supplies with exactly what we needed for just that month! It's hard to come to this peace, but when you do, it is truly amazing because you get to enjoy the journey and allow it to be the blessing it was designed to be. I say all this to remind those of you that pour in to others, that you must allow yourself to enjoy the journey and never let stress rob you of this joy. What gets done, gets done. And that is enough.

Second, I want to clarify who can do this! I want you to "meet" the women that do this and understand how God uses anything we are willing to bring to the table! This is just a few of the ladies we have had the pleasure locking arms with to make a difference. Take a moment to read about them and I am sure you will identify with at least one of them!
Lady 1: This woman has been sewing most of her life. She does fabulous hand work. She's one of those you can depend on to finish what she starts and she always comes each month. She comes simply with an open heart and asks what can she do this meeting. She's a treasure and sometimes even brings goodies to share. She works in the school system with kids every day. You know she should be tired, but she still shows up.
Lady 2: This woman has never sewn! She is however, passionate about helping others. She works with jail ministry and impacts many lives, but don't ask her to use a needle and thread! That's perfect, because she irons the items for the others to sew! She also cuts out items to be sewn. Skills are not needed. Just a willing heart. Her kids are grown, but are still an active part of her daily life. She spends time with her husband, time with Jesus, works full time, but still takes a few moments in a month with our ministry as well.
Lady 3: This woman sews well and is always willing. But, she is a very busy single mom running her own business. Those two things alone would give her reason to not be able to have time to work with us. What many don't know though is that she too has experienced Arkansas Children's Hospital first hand and understands the needs of those families. It is for this reason, she makes the time to join us each month. And, if her schedule doesn't allow, somehow she completes a ton of items at home and brings them by!
Lady 4: This is a young woman. Early in her marriage, working full time, and remodeling her home. The remodeling of a home can make anyone crazy and busy! This young lady though has grown up with sewing and has a big heart. She wants to make a difference so she does through this ministry. She sews, irons, finishes...whatever the need that month she fills in...willingly. Her smile is fantastic and brings such positive energy to our meetings.
Lady 5: This is a woman I have only met in person a few times. She is busy and has a daughter with health concerns that have led her to be at ACH many, many times for many, many days. She believes in this ministry and each year purchases flannel for us to use for blankets for the babies. Without items like this, we could not impact even a fraction of the families that we do. Resources are vital and she understands this. We are humbled by her gifts.

It is my prayer that you take a moment to see that God uses everything you are willing to give. It may be your time, your talents, or your resources. You don't have to be what you consider wonderful or amazing, just be you and it will be used. Together, we are wonderful. Together we are amazing. Together, we make a difference. I hope you will join us and be a Difference Maker too!Melissa Posinskihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00532172071953804928noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4639892517576050013.post-20022211724735932442016-05-27T11:01:00.000-07:002016-05-27T11:01:28.795-07:00Spring has sprung and now comes Summer....Our Spring delivery was fabulous! We actually had 2 deliveries! One in time for Easter and then one more because we finished up some more items! They were fabulous! Beautiful shirts, sweet blankets, and even a few hats! We have such wonderful and talented helpers making this happen.

The last delivery we even started new packaging for our shirts. In the past, we have simply delivered them unwrapped. They are now individually wrapped so they are more of a gift for the families to enjoy. We want them to know that they matter and that it was important to us to provide this for them. There is a sweet message on the back of the package that looks like this photo below.

In total, we were able to deliver 37 shirts and 69 blankets for spring! That is awesome! So many families were blessed! Click on the photos tab to see all the pictures!

Our June sewing meeting we will be wrapping up the items for our Summer delivery! The ladies have been extremely busy and it will be another wonderful amount going to ACH! Our June meeting is also going to be a little different in that we will be having a "Tea Party" as we sew. We will have tea and cookies to enjoy the afternoon fellowship.

You may ask why we would do a tea party... June is a very special month for us. Our daughter was born in June with her heart condition. We only had the blessing of her here with us for 100 days. Now we wait to see her again. All of those days were spent in the CVICU at Arkansas Children's Hospital. During the pregnancy, we talked all the time about having a little girl and dreaming of the tea parties we would have. So, we have them and think of her. She is 5 this year.

Our time in the CVICU was hard, but deeply and richly blessed. It was during this time our eyes were opened to what is happening there. Parents are coming in with these new babies and have nothing for them. They can't afford anything. Even if they could, nothing exists to buy that the babies could wear due to all the wires and tubes. This is why what we do is so critical. We are able to make the only item these families can put on their babies. And, we are able to let these families know they are truly not alone. People care about them.

We hope you will join us June 4, 2-?? and enjoy tea and cookies as we sew. Sewing skills are not required! We need everyone!

See you there!...Melissa Posinskihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00532172071953804928noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4639892517576050013.post-28381764699867953362016-02-02T10:50:00.000-08:002016-02-02T10:50:00.358-08:00Easter is Coming!Easter is coming....and we will be ready. How many of you growing up had a special dress or a new shirt for this special Sunday? Many of us had this blessing and continue with our own children. Those in the hospital are no exception, and so we plan accordingly with our sewing! We have a modified pattern that looks like little sundresses for the girls, and we use fabrics such as plaids and pinstripes for the boys. Everyone deserves to have the ability to put on their Sunday best and know they are special because the truth is, these little ones and their families are very, very special to Jesus.

Easter is the most wonderful day of the year! The day the curse of death was overcome so that all may have eternal life. The day that allows those that hurt with the loss of a little one to know they are in Heaven waiting. And, for those that we still have the pleasure to kiss and enjoy here, we will make it special for them as well.

Such a special day requires special clothes to celebrate! I hope you will join us as we prepare our items for delivery in March to Arkansas Children's Hospital. You don't need sewing skills, just a willing heart! We will be sewing this Saturday morning from 10-1. Please email for directions to melskispark@gmail.com and we look forward to seeing you there!

And don't worry, next month we will post the pictures of the final items before we deliver them!Melissa Posinskihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00532172071953804928noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4639892517576050013.post-49837468923125936872015-12-28T11:19:00.001-08:002015-12-28T11:24:02.275-08:00Blessed DecemberThroughout the year, we will find fabrics for Christmas and as Fall approaches, we then begin to work on items for the December (Christmas) delivery. This year was no exception and the delivery was a wonderful bounty!

We know that Christmas time in a hospital is very, very tough for families. How do you decorate? How do you celebrate? What do you get your child? Does anyone know you are there? Thoughts like these can steal the joy of Christmas and the gift of time with your child. This is why it is so important to make sure this delivery is special. These families need to know they and their little ones matter and they are loved. God uses this ministry for that purpose.

Because of the amazing people God has put together to make this ministry effective, we were able to deliver the following in December:
48 flannel receiving blankets (used to cover the bed), 51 shirts (12 were preemie size), 7 gorgeous quilts, 12 lovies, and several heavier and very nice flannel blankets! Of course, we also delivered a bucket full of chocolate and a big tin of cookies for the wonderful staff!

Take a moment to check out the photos. The quilts are from a young lady learning how to quilt with her grandmother. What an example to teach your grandchildren how to make a difference! And, she's doing quite well! The quilts are beautiful! I also hope you enjoy the sweet Christmas fabrics we found for the shirts. Make sure to check out the precious blanket patterns/fabrics too! You may see something you donated! Thank you!

Have a very Merry and Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year!
As mentioned, we were able to make a second delivery of fall items for ACH. In that were 37 flannel blankets, 32 shirts, and 5 more lovies. The lovies are our little quilts that will fit in the warming beds and just be a sweet little cover for the babies. We are blessed to have ladies make these for these little ones!

Our time in the October meeting was very productive as you can see by how much more was wrapped up and delivered. The November meeting then focused on the delivery for Christmas. We were cutting, sewing, ironing, more sewing, hand sewing... and enjoying the fellowship that comes with knowing you are doing something that matters.

We want to make sure you know what we are doing. And, for those of you that invest time, money, prayers...in this ministry, we want a simple way for you to be informed with more than just this meeting/delivery summary. For this reason, you can also follow us on our Facebook page which is Sweet Little E. We look forward to sharing with you!

Check out the Fall Delivery photo! I am sure some of you will even see the beautiful fabrics you have donated! They were fantastic to have a variety of items!Melissa Posinskihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00532172071953804928noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4639892517576050013.post-53458043859175056622015-09-30T10:10:00.000-07:002015-09-30T10:10:08.750-07:00Fall is Here...Christmas is Coming!

Wow! Summer has flown
by and now fall is upon us! Soon, Christmas
will be here! We have been busy over the
summer and sent many items to ACH. We
are now gearing up for fall deliveries and of course, Christmas! We sent summer items (48 shirts and 50
blankets) and this next week another entire load will be sent! What a difference you are making! Check out the photos to see the latest items
that were delivered.

This Saturday will be our next meeting. We hope you can join us - even if you can't
sew! We will begin items for Christmas!!! They are so fun and so cute! I can't wait to see what all we can get done!

As we prepare for Christmas, we ask that you keep us in
mind. On black Friday we will do a large
flannel purchase. If you prefer to
donate to this fun and EARLY morning, that would be wonderful! You don't have to sew to make a difference! And, you don't have to stand in the cold weather! We all have a part in this world to share
God's love. Do what you are gifted with
to do!

Also, we like to put together
something for the staff at ACH as well. Chocolate
is always welcome. So, perhaps you will
consider picking some up to be included in the December delivery? The staff at ACH is simply without words. The love and care they pour in to the patients
is immeasurable. They hurt when a child
hurts, they cry with joy when a child can go home, and they cry with sorrow
when a parent must say good-bye to their child.
What a tough and rewarding job they have. I hope you will help us show them that they
are appreciated.

Did it matter that I took the moment to do a little something out of my way? Did it make a difference? Most of what we do day in and day out goes unnoticed by the world. But, then there are those moments, precious moments, when God bends down and whispers "You made a difference"!

Most people do little things for others without any hope of repayment. We were designed to be servants, to be givers. It is what gives us purpose and fulfillment. What is such a blessing, is when just once in a while it gets noticed. That simple "thank you" can fuel you through 10,000 more acts without the "thank you"!

In the case of what we do for the babies of Arkansas Children's Hospital, we know that we make a difference, but we rarely get to see the personal impact. This past week we received a card from a mom that was able to have one of the little shirts we make for the babies of the CVICU. If I were to write what it says, I couldn't do it justice. It is for this reason, I have attached a photo of the card for you to read yourself. Warning, you may want a tissue! It is my prayer this note touches your heart and you know deeply that what you do DOES matter! Be the Difference Maker that God designed you to be in this world!

Enjoy and I will see you this Saturday to make even more items!!!
In total we delivered 38 hats, 56 flannel receiving blankets, 29 shirts, and 16 flannel backed blankets! And, with our April meeting coming up, we are going to be able to deliver even more by the end of the month! It is so very exciting!

This may be a recap to some, and may be new to others, but I want to take a moment and explain what we do and why. It is my prayer that this blesses you and encourages you to either be a part of us, or to find a way in which you can be more than you. Where God can use your talents and passions to make a difference. You will NEVER regret it!

At Arkansas Children's Hospital you will find the NICU which is a term many are used to and know. But, what you also find is the CVICU and that is a more foreign term for many. It stands for the Cardiovascular ICU. We are used to hearing about cardiac care units in hospitals for adults so the idea is not foreign, but to think about the unit for little ones is many times overwhelming. Babies born with heart defects is actually quite common. And, the CVICU at ACH is able to take care of all types! What they can do is completely amazing. I have seen them rebuild parts of a heart, an entire heart, transplant a heart, and all the other repairs and procedures in between. There are patients from all over the world coming because of what they can do. And, patients of all ages are in the CVICU because if even as an adult if your heart issue is from a defect, you get treated there! The staff at ACH is under immense pressure with having patients in such a very critical stage. Their efforts and love make the difference for the patients and their families. I don't know of more amazing teams!

Now that you know "who" here is the "why"! When you are a baby in the CVICU it is important to be able to have IV access. This is a given in the hospital. Most babies must have two IV access points to make sure one always works. So, this means there will most likely be one in an arm and then one in the leg or other location of the body. In addition, many of these patients have had open heart surgery so they have an incision down the center of their chest. It is a lot of wires and lines to work around, not to mention the daily x-rays and other procedures that must be done. The little shirts that we make are designed to go around ALL of this! This allows parents to put a little something on their baby. To have a "normal" moment and dress their little one. This moment is priceless. There is nothing else out there like this. The other items we provide such as blankets and hats are items that we know can be used by the babies/families of the CVICU. Flannel receiving blankets are used to cover the bed and give a pretty or fun bed for the baby to lay upon. Regular receiving blankets from the store don't fit the beds so we make blankets that do! Hats are just simply cute, and the other blankets we make are a little smaller than typical to fit in the bed with the babies.

It is my prayer this helps you understand why this ministry is important. And, why we hope you will make the decision to be a part of it as well. No matter your choice, I pray this ministry blesses you.

May your day be intentional and blessed so you can make the biggest impact in this world!

See you soon!Melissa Posinskihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00532172071953804928noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4639892517576050013.post-41499479063860668382015-04-01T15:04:00.000-07:002015-04-01T15:04:52.544-07:00Spring is Here - Celebrate! It's that time again! Spring! New life is coming out every where you look. It's so exciting and refreshing. And, new items are completed and even more being wrapped up by our wonderful ladies that sew, create, and contribute to making a difference with us. Although we haven't revealed what we've been up to lately, I know that you will be pleasantly surprised! And, I hope it inspires you to either join us or take a step to making a difference in the world around you with the skills and talents God has specifically given to you.

Through the cold and snow of winter, there were people making small steps on a regular basis. These steps have provided a wonderful delivery for the babies at Arkansas Children's Hospital CVICU. And, lately we have had the option of sharing this ministry with others and have new ladies that have joined with us. It has been a true and wonderful blessing. Today the first package arrived at ACH and next week the other portion will arrive! Photos and totals will be posted then so be on the lookout for those over these next few days.

For those of you that enjoy spring cleaning...we love fabric! We especially love new, unwashed flannel to use for making blankets. And, precious cotton prints are wonderful for our little shirts. We are typically blessed with absolutely beautiful flowers and such for the little girls, but would love to have more little boy cotton fabrics. Again, new and unwashed please. It only takes a yard of fabric to cut out 8 shirts so as you can imagine, little pieces are great for variety too!

This month, April, our meeting would typically fall on the first Saturday of the month. This year though that is Easter weekend. Easter is such a special time of thankfulness and blessing for the price Jesus paid for us. It is for this reason, we want our ladies and those that help this ministry to take this time with their families. We will meet instead on the third Saturday which will be April 18 from 9-12 that morning. If you would like to join us, please email me for the address at melskispark@gmail.com and I will get you the details!Melissa Posinskihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00532172071953804928noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4639892517576050013.post-59253973409769300262015-02-04T11:38:00.002-08:002015-02-04T11:38:39.216-08:00Let's GO!Our January meeting was unfortunately cancelled due to the flu bug making it's rounds even through our home! But because of the work that has been done over the last few months, as well as work from some wonderful ladies in Houston, we still have a load to deliver! We are always so very, very blessed.

Our February meeting is coming up where we will wrap up some final things to include in the delivery and then we will knock out many more items for the next month! Come join us for a refreshing time of fellowship and creativity as we work on the items for next month.

I look forward to seeing you! Let's GO!Melissa Posinskihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00532172071953804928noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4639892517576050013.post-80074074518960107422014-12-26T07:06:00.000-08:002015-09-30T10:47:28.462-07:00Ending 2014 Overwhelmingly BlessedWhat an amazing year it has been! Our meetings in November and December wrapped up so many items! In December alone we delivered another 50 blankets, 20 shirts, 10 hats, and even 2 quilts from the smaller pieces of flannel!

During this year, we have had donations of time, fabric, and funds that allowed us to impact and bless many, many families. We have been covered by prayer, encouraged, and loved. This next year can be even bigger! So excited!!!

My heart is full of JOY unspeakable! In some of the hardest and saddest times for people as they watch and deal with the struggles and suffering of their little one, we have had the honor of being the love of Jesus to them. Just letting them know they matter, they're not alone. No words can ever describe or cover what this means...to them or me. And, someday when you see His smile, you too will be speechless! I look forward to that moment, but until then, will see how much of a difference we can make!

I urge you that even if you cannot be part of our group, be part of something bigger than you. Find something to use your talents (or learn new things) and be determined to be a Difference Maker in 2015!

Thank you and may you have a blessed 2015!Melissa Posinskihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00532172071953804928noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4639892517576050013.post-32230820922553987282014-10-31T11:03:00.002-07:002014-10-31T11:03:18.499-07:00Drum Roll Please...Wow! A lot of hands each doing a part and we had an amazing October. This will be quick as I just want to give you the totals. We delivered items at the beginning of the month and then wrapped up a few more things for delivery yesterday. So the totals are:

121 Flannel Blankets - These are used to cover the bed and give the babies a beautiful bed and soft bed to lay on because typically store bought blankets are way too small.
34 Shirts - Boy, girl, and pumpkins! These are the specially designed vests we make that work with all the lines, cords, and wires these precious babies must have.
5 Quilts - Extra soft and perfect for wrapping around these little ones.
3 Lovies - Nice and small to fit in their bed with them and give a sweet snuggle!

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all those that made this happen! Now on to fall and Christmas items! I hope to see you tomorrow for sewing at my home! Email for directions.Melissa Posinskihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00532172071953804928noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4639892517576050013.post-92025537031935198832014-10-22T08:10:00.001-07:002014-10-22T08:10:18.952-07:00A Long Overdue Update! It has been too long since I posted an update! So this may take a moment! On the first Saturday of each month, ladies continue to show up and it amazes me EVERY time how much we get done!

Some of the meetings we spend time cutting and prepping and other meetings we get to spend time finishing items. Because of all the work done over these last few months "prepping" items, in October we have had an abundance of completed items and delivered items. The photos page is updated with some of these! Check it out! There will even be another delivery in October at the end of the month. I'll give some totals then! I can tell you now though, it's over 30 shirts and 70 blankets.... woohoo! Many, many families will be blessed!

We were ABUNDANTLY blessed a few months ago to be given a wonderful donation of flannel! So far, over 30 blankets have been made and delivered just from this blessing! There will be many, many more. I could never say thank you enough! And because of a wonderful donation of beautiful threads, we had all we needed to do the blankets for the sweet babies.

God is truly, truly the ultimate provider. His provision for this ministry is nothing short of a miracle. It seems the more we pour in to this, the more He provides. I can't explain it, but I am humbled and overwhelmed how so many of you allow Him to use you to make a difference.

Some of the shirts and blankets that were delivered last week were perfect for this fall. Pumpkins and candy corn on the fabric! Perfect! Now, we start finishing shirts for Christmas! I can't wait as they are so cute! Hats are on the agenda too! It's a cold time of year for these little ones.

Next month will be the black Friday sales and I am so excited! Last year we were able to purchase a large amount of flannel for 75% off! That is a huge savings! If you would like to contribute to this year's in some way, just let me know! That part is totally up to you and what is on your heart.

I pray you are blessed by the photos and updates. And, that you too look forward to hearing the words "well done" when we get to Heaven! Have a wonderful day!Melissa Posinskihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00532172071953804928noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4639892517576050013.post-26941235798520863662014-06-14T05:39:00.001-07:002014-06-14T05:39:36.742-07:00Smile Moments
What a wonderful meeting we had this month!!! Over the last few meetings more and more has been completed and it turned out that we were able to wrap up the final steps on a lot of items in just a few hours!

Yesterday some of our awesome ladies delivered to Arkansas Children's Hospital a package with 32 shirts and 41 blankets for the babies and families of the CVICU. These items are specially made to meet the needs of the CVICU patients. I will post photos in the next few days!

Wow! So many families will have a "smile moment"! Thank you to all those involved as well as all those that lift up this ministry.

I can tell you from personal experience, these "smile moments" are priceless. They are sometimes very rare. There are no words for them. To know others care for your family that you don't even know, truly priceless. Although I hope those that read this don't need to experience this feeling, if you do, know there are people that love you, are praying for you, and working to bless you in the hardest of times. These gifts are the best way we can.

Thank you again to those that work to make a difference in the lives of others (with this or in other ways). Someday, we will experience pure joy when God shows us the impact of our actions! Very, very exciting!!!

See you on July 5!

Melissa Posinskihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00532172071953804928noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4639892517576050013.post-20267413027722401782014-06-04T08:15:00.002-07:002014-06-04T08:15:22.929-07:00"Give us this day, our daily bread..."I have always been amazed at God's provision for this ministry. He blesses it in abundance so we can bless so many others. The delivery that recently made it's way to ACH was over 40 blankets, plus of course our shirts and hats!

As I prepare for this coming Saturday to join with friends again to sew and have fellowship, I know that I am out of white serger thread and will need to pick some up. But when?!?! I have a lot to get done before Saturday! Then, I go through a package that arrived from a woman I have never met. In that package is the EXACT thread that works best for my machine! Not to mention, the package is full of all sorts of other goodies we will be able to use!!!

I wanted to share this note because all of us have those moments when we feel like there is something we need to do, but we shrug it off and say I will get to it later. Procrastination steals the joy of giving and receiving blessings. Never doubt what God has working in the background that you don't see. And, always, always, tell Him thank you when you get those showers of blessings upon you!

Have a wonderful day full of blessings! See you Saturday!Melissa Posinskihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00532172071953804928noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4639892517576050013.post-65739532738475536482014-05-28T12:53:00.001-07:002014-05-28T12:53:22.037-07:00Spring Showers

Spring has come (and almost gone)! This Spring was showers of blessings. We were blessed with beautiful supplies and giving hands to make them into wonderful, wonderful items. Although I haven't had a chance to update the blog, we were no less busy! The first Saturday of each month amazing women show up at my home (as young as 3....) ready to have a wonderful time of fellowship while making a difference for others. There are others who are unable to join us, but they contribute supplies and most importantly they pray for this ministry. We were able to send an awesome delivery to ACH at the beginning of May. And I can't wait to wrap up all the started items in our June meeting and have another bounty of blessings to deliver! Check out the photos. You will see all sorts of fabrics! And, some of you will recognize items made from what you have given. Thank you. You make a difference!

Just wait until you see what the June update will have!!! I look forward to sharing it with all of you!

Remember, everything you do makes a difference. It doesn't matter what you intend, it matters what is done. Will you allow your difference to change the world or keep it to yourself? Will you choose to make sure the difference you make is positive? Be intentional with the difference you make! You will find it quite exciting when you do!

See you in June!!!!

Melissa Posinskihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00532172071953804928noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4639892517576050013.post-3600043376928682732013-12-19T08:37:00.000-08:002013-12-19T08:37:29.418-08:00God Math and ChristmasWell, I have to say there is simply nothing like God math. If you haven't experienced it, you are missing something quite remarkable. Hopefully this post will give you a glimpse of God math. It's pretty simple actually... you take a little bit of your time and/or resources + a little bit of from several others + God's blessings = an incredible abundance! If you will just say yes to an idea or plan He has for you, He will add it to others and you will experience INCREDIBLE! It's a lot of fun!

So, with all that said, the delivery for Christmas to the CVICU was wonderful. And, with as full as they are (unfortunately) this was needed. We delivered the following:
48 flannel blankets - these are used also as the bedding under the baby for a pretty and soft bed
22 fleece blankets - these are made a little smaller than the big ones at the store so they can be used in the small area
23 lovies - these ultra soft and cuddly blankets are the ultimate snuggling item and they were all backed with Christmas red and green satin
3 flannel quilts - these are so precious
15 hats - cute, cute, cute!
35 shirts - all done in Christmas fabrics so the babies will have cute outfits to celebrate

And of course - a big box of chocolate for the amazing staff of the CVICU!!!

Spending Christmas in a hospital makes it VERY hard to feel like Christmas. And, it's hard to have joy when you are in the worst circumstances you can imagine enduring. These gifts let these parents know that someone cares about them and cares about their little one. What a wonderful way to show the meaning of Christmas - God loves us so much He sent his son.

Have a very Merry Christmas and may you enjoy many, many blessings!!! Love you all! Thank you for being part of this group and working to make a difference in this world. Enjoy the photos of the items delivered!Melissa Posinskihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00532172071953804928noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4639892517576050013.post-56446032528185012382013-11-08T08:18:00.002-08:002013-11-08T08:18:31.452-08:00What a Fall!It has been a bit since I had a chance to post an update! Since the last update, 2 good size shipments have made their way to ACH! I know I say this every time, but I mean it from the bottom of my heart and with all the passion possible to convey in writing - because of the love and generosity of you, a difference is made in the lives of many, many families. THANK YOU!

We do not like to think about babies and families hurting. To know that each minute things change and more prayers go up asking for healing, love, and hope. The roller coaster of being a patient (or the family) in the hospital is indescribable. It is in the midst of this up and down and back and forth and sideways that your gifts arrive. You give a smile in a world that needs lots of them. For this I personally am truly thankful and hope that you understand just how special you are.

This last shipment to ACH included 40 flannel blankets, 22 shirts, and 14 lovies! Wow! You made this happen. You make a difference. And, someday I will get to stand beside you in front of our amazing God as he smiles at us for showing His love. I don't know of a better reward...

May you be blessed and I look forward to seeing and hearing from you as we prepare for a Christmas delivery!Melissa Posinskihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00532172071953804928noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4639892517576050013.post-26989797712017216832013-09-09T19:18:00.002-07:002013-09-09T19:18:44.210-07:00Summer UpdateOur July meeting finished many items and by the August meeting we had even more! We were able to send a package to ACH that included 15 flannel blankets, 7 snuggles (or lovies), 4 fleece blankets, 15 hats, 6 Beads of Courage bags, and 24 shirts!!! And with all the work from those meetings along with the September meeting, another even larger load is about to head to ACH too!
Fall activities have begun and that means many of us are running kids and grand-kids to all sorts of sports and school activities. That also means many of you that are typically able to join us won't be able to for a few times. I want to let you know that you are missed, but I also believe that family always comes first. Enjoy your family and the blessing of time you get with them. We are never promised tomorrow. If you find you have time in between things and would like to work on something, please contact me and I can bring you some items to work on at your leisure.
I look forward to our meeting in October. It will be October 5 from 9-12. Join us for all or part of the meeting! We will start working on some things for Christmas for the babies. Such a special occasion is hard to celebrate in the hospital, but perhaps we can at least give a family a moment of a smile and let them know they are loved.
Thank you as always for your love, your support, your prayers, and all you do so that together we can bless many, many families. You are a blessing and give such blessings! Thank you!Melissa Posinskihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00532172071953804928noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4639892517576050013.post-24068874385985066222013-07-14T08:12:00.001-07:002013-07-14T08:12:45.248-07:00July BlessingsOur July meeting was such a blessing! We have a lot of things finalized and they will be going to ACH this week! I will post the totals and information as well as photos at that time so everyone can see the impact! We had a great July meeting with several wonderful women! We were even blessed by one bringing fruit and cookies! How much better can a Saturday morning get?!? Food, fellowship, sewing, and making a difference!!! If you missed it, don't despair. We would love for you to join us Aug 3 at our next meeting. Even if you can only be there for a short time, your presence makes a difference! Put it on your calendar now so you don't forget!
There may be some that read this post and feel that they can't contribute because they don't sew. I want to take a moment and encourage you! God uses everyone that is willing to make a difference and show His love. If you are willing, we have tasks that need done! We can use everyone and every skill level. Even 0! So, step out and join us. I guarantee you will be glad that you were a part of such a special Saturday morning. What a great way to kick off each month!
